Spring/Summer 08 heralds the return of vibrant colours so go bold join the campaign for colour! If the mere thought of colour has you quaking in your Ugg boots (sorry gentlemen!) there is still something for everyone. Feast your eyes on some of the lovely new colours set to be the fashionista’s favourites this season.
Greens
The eco movement and nature is a strong influence in this trend. Greens can be used like the neutral palettes we have all become accustomed to. Choose from soft olives and the palest of greens to bright citrus tones as accent colours. Coupled with clear blue or aqua to create a living space that conjures up a sense of outdoor-friendly living. Sandy tan and brown can be intermingled to complete that earthy and eco-friendly feel. While suitable for all areas of the home, these combinations are an especially good choice for bathrooms, kitchens and family living spaces.
Black and White
Glamourous and Sophisticated, think 1950’s penthouse glamour. Team black and white decor with bright accent colours but beware of recreating the 1980’s. Citrus colours in short bursts work well with black and white schemes, try injecting colour via your accessories. Master bedroom suites and living rooms are two of the spaces that can benefit from sophisticated elegance.
Brights
Bright hues of reds and blues reminiscent of your student days (who didn’t once own a rag rug?) is the influence for the last trend around in 2008. A move towards a less clinical environment minus the sink full of dishes! Rich cranberry reds, warm browns, along with pumpkin orange help to create a nurturing and caring environment. Mix in deep-toned blue and the tapestry is complete.
